Imagine an actress passing over an Academy Award. A scientist refusing the Nobel Prize. Anyone turning down the very thing that they pray for every day.

You are a tremendous person. Don't look at is as passing up your Oscar or Nobel Prize - look at it as gracefully declining until you've cleared off some shelf space to show it off...
and who knows? In two years you might be nominated again.
Ah, Vanessa, you would make a terrible Republican ... Just please tell me you didn't say no to love; I lose my cookies over people saying no to true love, even if the cost is gigantic. The cost of love shunned is even higher ... but I digress in my imaginings. It's never too late ... and as George Michael says, there's a way back for every man!
